Dipped in Concepts: It's Always Sunny in Los Angeles
Welcome to my first installment of Dipped in Concepts! As much as I love sharing my outfits and doing traditional lookbooks, I wanted to step outside the box and get creative. With each new set I will be explaining different details of the shoot and what it means to me.
The basic concept behind 'It's always Sunny in Los Angeles', revolves around the never ending drought that California is in. People have stopped watering their lawns, museums have shut off water attractions, and you can no longer wash your car at home. The sun continues to beat down on a daily basis, and if it does rain, it is very short lived. I wanted it to be like I got caught out in the rain and got drenched.
Umbrella: I chose the clear umbrella because one, who even needs an umbrella in Los Angeles? With that being said, it clearly does no justice shielding you from the sun. It was meant to be ironic and kind of pointless.
Rain Jacket: I'm super into this REBEL8 rain jacket and saw it as a perfect fit for this shoot. I could have gone with a traditional yellow rain jacket, but that wouldn't be very Dipped in Black of me now would it? The yellow, to me, represented sunshine, and I wanted the complete opposite of that.
T-Shirt & Shorts: I wanted a classic Summer staple outfit so I went for the REBEL8 Premium Blend Tee and some thrifted cut off shorts.
I had a lot of fun playing around with this concept and swimming around in sneakers! Plus, it was a much needed cool down from this LA heat. Let me know what you think and feel free to add suggestions for next time! As always, I love collaborating and creating, so hit me up on IG (@_Dippedinblack). xo
